Description
The Sussex Squire Thomas Block Clare Valley Shiraz is dry grown and under vine is maintained with organic principles to ensure an active microbiological environment for the vines to grow and develop their own unique characters in the fruit.
Hand picked and then de-stemmed and pumped into 3 tonne open fermenters. Hand plunged and pumped over daily to break the cap and assist with skin contact. Left on skins for 9 days before filling the basket press with skins to drain off the juice (without pressing) and pumped into tank for secondary malolactic fermentation. It was then racked off and placed into 40% new and 60% old French oak barrels for 15months.
Intense ripe fruit flavours of plum and red and black berries and a hint of blueberry, lovely herb and spice on the back palate balanced with aging for 15months in new and old French oak.
FOOD MATCH: Great with BBQ steak or roast beef on the spit.
CELLARING: Drink Now or if you can wait a little bit longer Cellar 10yrs +

50% new French oak. Dry grown, organically. Clare Valley Shiraz. Cooler vintage.
It feels generous. Indeed the word plush is in order. Plums, tar, creamy-vanilla, spearmint and assorted florals. Both fleshy and fresh. I like the hit of this wine, the run, the follow-through. It’s a good red to settle in with.

196 dozen made. 30% new French oak. Dry grown, organically. Clare Valley Shiraz.
Spearmint and bright plum flavours bloom through the mouth. It’s tasty and inviting from the outset. Smoky, cedar-like oak is there but as a complement, and a subtle one at that. This is bright and vibrant but the fruit has darkness and depth. It’s like essence of plum. Good territory here.

Heavy hitting shiraz, wrapped in velvet. Tis goes for gold and does so in powerful style. Blackberry, boysenberry, dark chocolate, violets, coffee grounds, earth, sweet spearmint – it packs it all in. It’s a Big Red, most certainly, but it’s juicy and tannic to boot. Will Not Be Denied. If you like ’em big, you should look out for this.
